Thank you for your patience and understanding! By placing an order in the CJKKJH Shop, you have read, understood, and agreed to all terms and conditions below.

Inquiries are handled on a case-by-case basis with the ultimate goal to make my customers happy. We stand behind all my products that are inspected multiple times to assure customers are to be satisfied with them and if they do have flaws we clearly state it in the description of each product, so read through the product description that carefully. Each request will be treated fairly and reasonably. We believe when treating our customers evenly and respectfully that they are fair, understanding, and polite with us.

  • If for some reason you lost the digital download or can’t access the link, you can contact me through the contact form or email to cjkkjhlabel@gmail.com with your name/ email/ order # and I will send you the file you bought manually again.

  • My sincere and deepest apologies for sending you the wrong order. This is a very rare instance, but please be understanding that my assistant and I are also a human, so we might forget to pack item, accidentally send you a different product, or add extra products. Make sure to double check the mailer, sometimes items can get wedged into the bottom corner.

    Please email me through the contact form or via email at support@cjkkjh.com if there anything missing/incorrect in your order once it arrives, and I will happily send the missing order or replace it. No, you don’t have to return the extra product you already received back to me and I will send you the right product ASAP with no additional shipping cost.

  • Please be aware that the colors of all products may vary slightly from different screens and monitors. I try to my best abilities to photograph and edit my product photos as closely to the actual color of the product.

    The final product will have a few differences, but it is very close to the provided pictures.

  • Grade refers to the quality of the product. Any flawed products are classified in different grades.

    These flaws range from a misprint, mis cuts, small scratches, slight dents, color flaws, and etc. A grade is perfect of the perfect, B Grade is a little bit flawed compared to A grade, and C Grade will be more flawed than B Grade, and so on. The lower the grade, the cheaper and more discounted the product.

    In my store everything will be classified with 3 grades: A, B, C Grade.

    I personally like to say these lower grade products have character and unique quality to them. I will be selling them at a discounted price instead of just throwing them out to give a chance to go a new home and be environment friendly.

  • My email response time is within 1-5 business days, unless I have personal emergencies or high volumes of emails. Please be patient with me.

    I will try to answer emails only during Monday-Friday

    I don’t read or respond to emails on any weekends and holidays.

    If you haven’t gotten a response be sure to check your junk mail (some customers have found my emails there) and if not there please resend an email as sometimes they can get lost.

    If the product is popular and sold out super quickly, I might restock depending on demand. I will restock my personal favorites for an extended amount of time, while others will be experimental and limited edition.

    However, I will typically create new products instead of restocking old ones unless the demand is really, really high or I love the product a lot.

    Snag one while its there, in case I don’t.

  • What is a pre order?

    A pre order is an order that is sold before the item is available. It’s also a good way to see how many people want them to gauge how many to order.

    When will I get my pre orders?

    The items will take a few months to manufacture and come to me. The estimated time is listed on the product listing.

    Are the photos accurate to what I’ll get?

    The product photos are taken from a close to final sample. The final product will have a few differences, but it will be very close the product photos.

  • There are times where I am restocking old products, or creating new products, or on a break! During those times, I may have my shops closed momentarily. I always strive to reopen as soon as possible! Thank you for your patience during this time, and you can get updates on my shop status from my SNS or mailing list.

  • Maedeup is a Traditional or Oriental Korean Decorative knots. The skill sets to make Maedeup is highly looked upon and known to be luxury item made for high class nobles in ancient times.

    I was taught Maedeup by ChungYoung Lee [my 81-year-old grandma, aka Professional Maedeup Artist/Teacher] in the summer of 2016 when I was 16 years old for about only 2 months when I visited South Korea to see my grandmother. Over the years, I have been honing my skills to create more original designs that fit into the modern trend and now I’m ready to share and sell my work globally, so everybody can enjoy, love, and learn about my heritage/culture.

    Each Maedeup is made with the highest attention to quality and care; however, due to the nature of handmade items, the item size and overall shape may vary slightly and gentle use is highly recommended.

    Maedeup takes a lot of blood, sweat, and tears to make. My grandma, younger sister, and I intensively use both hands to create the knots to perfection and we will once in a while use an Awl to help tighten and loosen the string to ease our hands. The process to make each Maedeup is extremely meticulous, labor intensive, complicated, and sadly very painful on the joints of the hands especially when you tighten the string to give that refined finish.

    The strings are rare, high quality, and expensive. The strings specifically used to make the turtles are extremely more expensive because it's thick, specialized, luxury quality, rare, and handmade from only few professionals in South Korea.

    ❋ Extra Historical Information I sincerely hope you will read:

    Maedeup dates back to the Three Kingdoms period (37 B.C.-A.D. 668). In the beginning, it was used around the waist to hold hunting and fishing tools such as stone axes and swords, but evolved into a form of decorative art. Not just an ornament, it was also considered a talisman of peace and happiness. These knots were used in the royal court and decorations for Buddhist ceremonies, as well as being finishing touches to clothing, accessories, musical instruments, pockets and buttons.

    The charm of Maedup lies in its unique structure and clean knots, striking a balance between order and form.

    Its elaboration requires four stages: dyeing threads with natural pigments, making dahoe (braided string), tying knots and producing tassels. The most common materials used to tie knots are silk thread, ramie, mulberry, hemp and wool, with silk thread being the most used. Tassels also varied by type and level according to use like for the royal palace or home.

    Maedeup is also commonly used in norigae, a decorative pendant used when wearing Hanbok (traditional Korean clothing)

    Traditional knots are no longer used as much as in the past, but the craft is being passed on by the older generation. Maedeup has survived in the present day through adaptation to modern society and application to accessories, jewelry and home interior decoration.

  • Please be aware, after the order has left my hands to the USPS or UPS I am officially out of control of what happens to the order. The shipping companies [USPS or UPS] will be responsible for shipping and safe arrival of your purchased product.

    I am not responsible for any damaged or missing packages, because I pack every order very carefully to ensure to the best of my ability so it arrives safely to the customer.

    If the customer have lost or damaged their products, I recommend you to please contact your LOCAL USPS or UPS with your tracking information or problem first before coming to me.

  • All orders will be processed in 2-7 business days except original artworks.

    Original Artwork orders turnaround time is probably 2-20 business days. The processing time of original artwork will take longer if I have to custom matt, mount, and/or frame the artwork.

    All orders are not shipped or delivered on weekends or holidays.

    If we are experiencing a high volume of orders, shipments may be delayed by a few days.

    Additionally, nationwide and global shipping delays (such as those caused by COVID-19, holiday volumes, or inclement weather conditions) may have an impact on your estimated delivery date. Please allow additional days in transit for delivery.

    If there will be a significant delay in shipment of your order from my personal reasons, I will contact you via email and announce through my newsletter, sns, and etc.

    Tracking usually takes 24-48 hours to update after shipping labels get printed and scanned by USPS or UPS.

    If you did not receive a shipping confirmation email within 10 business days after placing an order [no original artwork in the order], please email me so I can manually send the tracking and keep you updated. If you did not receive a shipping confirmation email within 20 business days after placing an order [contains original artwork in the order], please email me so I can manually send the tracking and keep you updated.

  • Our delivery times are estimated only and are not guaranteed. They will always be estimated in business days (this does not include weekends & holidays). Once the packages are sent to our shipping provider, arrival times are out of our control and in the hands of the shipping service that has been selected. CJKKJH or Catheryn Kim is not held responsible for:

    • Mistakes made by shipping company

    • Wrong addresses given by customers

    • Damage to orders by postal service or other outside factors

    • PO box issues

    • Stolen packages during or after delivery

  • Incorrect address/or address changes can be requested within 24 hours of your purchase date and time.

    Please, please triple check you put in the correct address, inputting the incorrect address will delay shipping and NO REFUNDS will be offered.

    If the customer’s order is returned back to me due to an incorrect address, the customer will be responsible for paying additional shipping costs to re-send to the new, corrected address. However, if the order does not ship properly again and returns back to me a 2nd time, then I will not ship again and NO REFUNDS will be offered.

    If you have history of losing or having a lot of stolen packages or purchasing internationally, then I highly recommend you to purchase a tracked package with additional upgrades which includes a signature confirmation and/or shipping insurance to make sure your package arrives to you and you can get money back from the shipping carrier if your package does get lost or stolen.

  • All additional fees/duties/charges/taxes/delays imposed during or after shipping are the responsibility of the customer and must be paid to your country to claim your package.

    I, CJKKJH or Catheryn Kim, will not collect or remit VAT. I, CJKKJH or Catheryn Kim, do not hold any responsibility of any potential custom and import fees/duties/charges/taxes/delays and this includes VAT.

    After placing an order on this store, the customer agrees to be responsible for any international custom fees/duties/taxes/delays which is not included in the product cost or shipping fee. You can check with your country’s customs office to determine what your additional costs will be before buying.

    Please understand once again I, CJKKJH or Catheryn Kim, am not responsible for any import taxes or extra costs incurred due to customs and they are not included in the item price or shipping cost.

    If you have a tracked international order, please check and monitor on your order often, so it doesn’t accidentally get returned to me due to the package being neglected at customs. If you don’t want to pay the tax, your order will be returned back to me.

    If any orders are returned to me from customs, I can do the following options below:

    [A] Ship the order back to the customer, but the customer will be responsible for paying the extra shipping cost again.

    [B] I can refund your order, minus a 20% restocking fee and the full original shipping costs.

    If I don’t get a response within a month I get your returned purchase I will go with option [B] automatically!

  • Stamped Letter Mail is only available for stickers, unless you buy super large quantity of stickers and I can’t fit all in the envelope. This is just a cheaper shipping option, however it is untrackable and has no insurance.

    Therefore; even though the shipping cost is cheaper there is a chance the letter mail can be missing, lost, stolen, and/or damaged. I, CJKKJH or Catheryn Kim, am not liable or responsible if your order going missing, lost, stolen, and/or damaged during the mailing process.

    If you are worried about your order being missing, lost, stolen, and/or damaged I highly recommend you to upgrade your shipping option to a trackable mail like first class package, priority mail, and priority express, ups ground, and etc. to make sure you can track your order and even have insurance on some of them.

    Also, you can purchase shipping upgrade and/or signature confirmation if you already purchased a trackable shipping option to for extra insurance.

  • The goal of my shop is to be eco-friendly! Please understand I am not a professional or perfect at this and trying to the best of my ability to be eco-friendly.

    I am always looking and learning for new and better ways to be more eco-friendly. I want my customers to have confidence that their products are coming from a place with minimal waste and an individual who cares about being eco-friendly and the impact I leave to the earth.

    I am trying my best to be conscious of where I am ordering my supplies from and try to be carbon neutral. I maintain a majority of my production within the US and South Korea. Please do know that if it is outside of the US and South Korea, I do plenty of research to find the right suppliers and/or companies to work with that align with my values. I will do my best to supply/source locally within the limitations I have as a small business.

    I highly encourage you to prioritize reusing or repurposing any materials before recycling it be nicer to the beautiful earth!

  • I used to draw on a Veikk A50 Pen Tablet Drawing Board, now I upgraded to a Huion Kamvas 22 Plus Drawing Tablet. This is where I do basically all my digital art and graphic design projects.

  • For my digital illustration, I use mainly only Clip Studio Paint and Adobe Photoshop. I used to use Medibang Paint Pro. Occasionally, I will use Medibang to change it up.

    For my graphic design projects, I use Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe InDesign interchangeably depending on the project. Sincerely wish there is a ultimate energy efficient, speedy, all in one program I can use to do all the things these 3 programs can do.

    For videos, I use mainly Adobe Premiere Pro and little bit of Adobe After Effects once in a while.

    For GIFS, I use Adobe Photoshop, Clip Studio Paint, and Adobe After Affects.
